小さな小さなふたつの本のペンダント、オーダーで作らせていただきました。
宝石はお客様のお持ちのもので、ご家族の誕生石とお好きなお石です。
ひとつは読みかけの本をイメージして、ページを開くとふたつの宝石が輝いております。
どこまで読んだかわかるよう、しおりもつけてみました。
もうひとつは唐草の透かし模様に誕生石が輝く重厚感のある本です。
背表紙にも唐草模様をお入れしました。
本のモチーフは、はじめて作らせていただきました。
中にはご家族の素敵な物語が広がっているのではないかな、と想像しておりました。
We had the opportunity to create a pendant in the form of two tiny little books as a custom order.
The gemstones were provided by the customer and are their family birthstones as well as a favorite gemstone.
One of the books was designed to resemble a book being read. When the pages are opened, two gemstones shine inside. I also added a bookmark so that one can tell how far they had read.
The other is a substantial book featuring an arabesque openwork pattern with a birthstone shining within it. I also engraved the arabesque pattern on the spine.
This was the first time we had created a book motif.
As we worked on it, we imagined that a wonderful family story might be unfolding inside these books.
